APPOTHICARY

Madhav  Ramadasan  has created an identity through his debut filmMELVILASAM in Malayalam film industry .Now in his second film he has contributed much to the society by dealing a controversial subject Medical ethics. It seems the director has compromised in many areas like selection of supporting actors and their dubbing voices .And of course one could feel that his direction deviated to high dramatic in the pre climax scenes. But for the cause, purpose and seriousness of the film one must appreciate Mr Madhav Ramadasan.Appothicary is need of the hour.
Doctors enjoy respect and prayers from the society at its best. Common man feels that doctors are second after GOD to look after them. But the hurting truth is that many of them are not fit for the respect. Human value is priceless and peerless yet some doctors bargaining it for mere money. In a hospital fact and figures speaks  rather than empathy and compassion. Most of the hospitals now have  placed a notice board warning that any harm or causality causing by the public to the hospital and doctors, will get 3 year imprisonment and they are liable to pay the loss occurred. So the public fear not even to question the unethical practices of the hospital people. They are swallowing the bitter truth for their kith and kins.Definitely but they are cursing in mind. Doctors are godfathers that the patients will obey them without hesitation and will do what they asked to do. For each and everything we have choices except medicines and lab tests. The doctor will “suggest “where the patient should do the test and where to buy the medicine .The naked truth behind this suggestion is nothing but commission.
Hospital has become an industry where service comes second .The prime concern of the investor is the return of investment within the shortest possible time .For that they squeeze and exploit the patients. Apart from all these hell they are using the poor patients for their clinical trials. In Kerala many of the so-called multi speciality hospitals are running these clinical trials for their trillion-dollar multinational pharmaceutical companies. Even Supreme Court has voiced recently against this brutal practice .Human beings are treated  like pigs and rats for clinical trials .Thanks for the exchequer that they didn't even have data of these trials.
Doctors are also human beings. They have family and children. Emotionally this film will haunt them or at least they will think for a second for their inhuman acts. At least if one of them change his attitude that’s enough .That will be the impact of this film in the society .Unlike a film which last year broke all the collection records and lead many youth to hide the "evidence" this film light a candle in the society about medical ethics. It may not break any of the past collection records but certainly it will last in common man’s heart.
All the main characters done their roles exceptionally well. Suresh Gopi as Vijay nambiar scored high.Jayasurya,Indrans and Thambi Antony are also performed remarkably well .
In his first film court room was the location where as here it’s a hospital .Kudos to the director that he has not shown any extravaganza unlike the usual melodramas
A must see film that ignites a thought in the society
